High-Quality Cobalt Plate / Sheet

Cobalt plate and sheet is refined cobalt supplied in flat form at a minimum purity of 99.9%. Plate rather than ingot is the practical choice where the cobalt is going into a melt that has to reach a precise composition: flat stock charges more evenly, dissolves faster, and can be cut to the exact weight a heat requires rather than being fed in whole units.

Cobalt earns its cost in three places. In superalloys it holds strength at temperatures where nickel-based alloys start to creep. In cutting tools it is the binder that holds tungsten carbide grains together, and binder content decides the balance between hardness and toughness. In battery cathodes it stabilises the layered structure, which is why battery-grade cobalt carries the tightest specifications of the three. Each application is really buying a different property from the same metal.

State the target alloy and, if the cobalt is an addition rather than the base, the addition rate. Superalloy and carbide producers typically care about the residual elements that affect toughness, while battery material producers work to tighter limits on the elements that disturb cathode chemistry. The same 99.9% base metal can serve both, but the lot is selected differently.

For the plate form, give the thickness and the piece size your charging equipment or cutting process accepts. Flat stock can be cut to weight, so tell us whether you want whole plate or pieces cut to a target weight per charge.

Plate and sheet are supplied strapped in bundles or on pallets as your handling equipment requires. Thickness, piece size, bundle weight and loaded weight per container are confirmed with the quotation.

Every lot ships with a certificate of analysis stating the full chemical composition, produced under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. That is more than the headline purity figure: it is the residual elements that decide whether two lots at the same stated purity behave the same way in your process.

You can nominate an independent inspection agency — SGS and BV are the two we handle most often — for pre-shipment sampling, weight verification and container sealing. The report is issued to you rather than to us, and you are equally welcome to send your own representative.

Standard export documentation covers the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and bill of lading, alongside the chemical composition report.
